Becoming a Member
Getting Involved First (Informal Path)
Before submitting a formal application, we highly encourage interested individuals to interact with our community informally. This helps you understand our projects, meet our active members, and discover where your skills can make the most impact.
- Wednesday Open Meetups: Join us every Wednesday starting at 17:30 at the Prishtina Hackerspace. These meetups are open to everyone—professional developers, hardware hackers, digital artists, and open culture enthusiasts alike—for casual discussions, project sharing, and hackerspace tours.
- Join the Central Digital Hub: Connect to our online central communication space (Hub Community) to stay updated on our daily operations, discuss code repositories, and coordinate civic technology or open hardware projects.
Application Process
FLOSSK and Prishtina Hackerspace operate a unified membership administration. To formally apply for membership, follow these steps:
- Process under construction
Membership Fees & Unified System
FLOSSK and Prishtina Hackerspace have a unified, integrated membership system to simplify tracking, event registrations, and space credentials.
- Fee Policy: The Assembly of Members (Kuvendi i Anëtarëve) is responsible for deciding whether a membership fee is required.
- Rules and Procedures: If a membership fee is implemented, the Assembly establishes the exact rules, procedures, amounts, and payment frequencies.
- Payment Consequences: Failure to pay established membership fees can result in the suspension of access to physical/technical resources, and may ultimately lead to the exclusion of the member from the organization as decided by the Assembly.
Suspension & Termination of Membership
Termination
According to Neni 13, Paragraph 5 of our Statute, formal membership ends when the individual:
- Failure to meet criteria: No longer meets the core admission criteria or ceases to participate in organizational activities.
- Resignation: Voluntarily resigns by submitting a written notice to the organization.
- Legal Conviction: Is convicted of a criminal offense by a final and binding judicial decision.
- Exclusion: Is excluded from the association by a decision of the Assembly of Members due to serious violations of the Statute or Code of Ethics.
- Death: Membership terminates upon the death of the member.
Suspension
- In cases of non-compliance with the Statute, Code of Ethics, or internal policies, a member's membership may be suspended by a decision of the Assembly of Members.
- The specific duration and terms of the suspension are determined individually by the Assembly based on the severity of the non-compliance.
- All decisions regarding termination or suspension by the Assembly must be approved by a majority vote of the members present at the meeting.
